A GENDERBEND IN A GENDERBEND. Well in this case it's just crossdressing but you get the idea. Emanaia's hair was very short at the end of last chapter, when she was 16, as she's been masquerading as a boy in order to be taken seriously. I couldn't help the shameless throwback to Erik. It was just too easy.
And the Shah who Emanaia answers to is actually based on the real guy who was in charge of Persia in 1877. Yay research!

(I teased a trans character when talking about this comic, this is not it, but in this chapter, Emanaia's cross dressing gives you essential clues as to who the trans character is)
