Why so much hate? by ElyssaJM Why so much hate? by ElyssaJM
The entire Christianity religion is based on love, so WHY THE HATE for Gays? I am ashamed of my fellow Christians who put down Homosexuality simply because it is different or odd. I have seen raly signs that say 'God hates fags' Well the 'Hate' part of that sign makes your argument already invalid idiot. God loves everyone for who they are, and I don't believe that he will send someone to Hell simply for loving someone. There is too much hate in this world, so why can't we allow people to love?

While I personally believe that homosexuallity is wrong, hating them is a sin. Politically, the only reason I don't support gay marraige is because of the militant gays who are attempting to force their beliefs on people. I am not saying they all do, but its disgusting to read a story about a little boy or girl who was flashed at a gay rights rally. Christ said hate the sin, but love the sinner. Try to help them out of their problem. It isnt' because its different or odd, but because it is wrong.

I've never read a more ignorant comment. Of course nothing I can say will change your mind but I will state my rebuttal.
How is it okay for a priest to stand on the side of the street and preach and hand out bibles but it's not alright to have a gay rally? How is it okay for religious figures to try and "convert" us and basically rub their beliefs in our face? The whole point of supporting homosexuality is letting people be who they were born to be, so saying that they try to force people to be like them is completely arrogant. A child being around a gay rally or a gay man or woman won't suddenly make them gay. No one can force you to love the same or opposite gender, no matter how many gay rallies you attend. It is a hard realization for a lot of people, and saying it's contagious is so completely hurtful.
Get your head out of your butt and educate yourself.

Let me state my counterrebuttal.
I didn't say it was wrong for people to have gay rallies. The problem I have is the child being flashed. I don't like people "Basically rubbing their beliefs in our face" either, and that is what I said. A child being at a gay rally won't make them gay, but a child being flashed is what I find appalling. My point is that the reason people are so militant towards gays is that they are finding so many people like you who are crucifying them for not accepting you. I didn't say its contagious, I said it is wrong for a child to see someone else's genetials. I support your "God hates hate". I made that clear. I stated that hating is evil. So, HOW AM I IGNORANT??????

The bible says otherwise.

Actually the NT mentions male prostitution and not committed relationships, an Paul might have spoke out against homosexuality but he also said that women should be silent and not take athority over a man.
I can hear your next argument, "The bible describes marriage between a man and woman,"
No, the bible describes marriage as between a man and multiple wives, a man and many concubines, and a man and his rape victim.
So "The bible says so," is not a valid argument.

Actually no, I was going to say the New Testament itself states that the Old Testament is still valid.

If you are a Christian then the NT is valid so by saying its not is very unchristian.

And the OT doesn't, however it does say that it is sinful to eat shellfish and prork and wear clothing with different fabrics woven into it. so even if it did speak out against homosexuality, what do we just decide what values from the OT to follow and what not to?

I'm not ruling out NT, I'm just saying that it states old testamate laws still apply. And since these laws are appearantly "god's words", then obviously god must love hate and killing.
I am not Christian, I will never follow any religion.
